Narrative Summary

What is a Narrative Summary?

A Narrative Summary is a factual document that briefly outlines the significant medical events in sequential order. The format is descriptive and narrative. A Narrative Summary also known as a Statement of Facts and can be stated as a strategic staging or presenting of facts in a way that addresses the legal issues in a case, without overtly arguing them.
A Narrative Summary will have the attributes of a narrative, including a plot line based on a certain temporality, a series of events, a cast of characters, and a point of view. If it is skillfully crafted, it will elicit interest and build dramatic tension.
An excellent narrative summary should be brief, accurate, and have a proper flow. It should allow you to record important details through a short perusal of its contents anytime you need to refer to a particular case.
